Name your Character
Choose a suitable name for your character. We encourage names from Oriental, European, and Greek/Roman culture.
Write a Back Story
Every back story should answer the following questions:
Where did your character grow up?
How old is your character?
What are your character’s goals and ambitions?
What sort of family does your character come from?
What do your character’s parents do and what are their names?
When forced to choose between the "right thing" and a friend what would your character do?
How does your character respond to threats?
Who taught your character what they already know?
Why is your character in Tarquinn now?
How does your character feel about gems?
What does your character do to entertain themselves?
What would your character die for?
Submit your back story to staff for inspection.
Spend Your Build
Each character has their racial starting build to spend on skills. They may purchase skills on their primary skill path at listed cost. Skills purchased from a path other than their primary cost double build.Build is acquired at 2 points at the end of each event.
Additional ways to gain build are by helping out staff and earning Service Points and by Role playing points. Service Points are given when you donate items to staff or provide staff help. These are given out only by staff members in an amount appropriate to the donation/service given. Role playing points are earned by staying in character and interacting well as your character. These can be given out by Marshalls or staff in an amount appropriate to how well you role play.Service points and role playing points are converted into build at the end of the event. For every 100 service points you earn 1 build. For every 100 role playing points you earn 1 build as well.
Make your Costume
Costuming should adhere to the standards listed under the races requirements.
Choose your starting weapons and armor
Each character may only begin the game with up to two weapons. Each character may only begin the game with up to ten thrown weapons, bolts, or arrows. No character may begin the game with more armor then they are capable of stacking together at one time. All weapons and armor will be subject to safety inspection before use. If the item is considered unsafe it will not be permitted in game. Get your starting gems (this must be completed on location with a martial). Each character begins the game with one sapphire which is worth 100 emeralds. Each character also rolls a ten sided dice to determine the amount of diamonds they begin with. A diamond is worth ten emeralds. Each character also rolls a twenty sided dice to determine the amount of emeralds their character begins with.
Things to Bring
Since you will be spending the weekend in a camping environment it is important to bring weather appropriate clothing. There are cabins, but make sure to bring plenty of warm bedding. Most cabins won’t have electricity. There are showers so it’s ok to bring washroom supplies. We will continue the game during inclement weather, including rain, snow, and the like, with the exception of dangerous weather. While we believe that weather is a large contributor of the mood of the game, we here at Pantheon put safety first. Likewise, always come extra prepared, rather than under prepared. Additional clothing and costuming can be helpful.
Players can store any food they bring in the camp cooler. Player food must have their name on the container. Any stealing of other players food will be taken seriously and the person stealing will be dealt with to the full extent of the law. A meal will be provided for a fee and take place during Saturday. The meal will usually include a drink and at minimum 1 plate of the meal.
We will have first aid kits at the event. Any player that has a medical condition that requires medication is advised tell staff about any of the medication they are required to have. This is completely confidential information that will not be disclosed. We care about the safety of our players and any conditions they might have.
Out of game items will be stored in cabins in designated out of game areas. (Under bunks, marked areas, etc.) Out of game items are not permitted in the in game areas. (Bottles with labels, plastic bags, real life money, etc) If you’re unsure if an item is in game appropriate or not, feel free to ask staff.
It is important to inform staff about any emergency contact information you may have. If something might happen it’s good for us to have that information.
Shadow Characters
Shadow characters are a secondary character that gives players the opportunity to play a character that is vastly different from their own. Shadow characters are made in the same way that your main PC is, except they can’t be the same race or primary skill path as your main PC. They are 30 build and have no build progression and may or may not be played during the players NPC shift. These types of characters are not necessary, but a way for characters to experience a different, but reoccurring, character.
NPC Shift
Each player is required to take an NPC shift during the event. An NPC shift is a 3 hour period when the player goes out of game and comes to logistics to play Non-Player characters and help staff.
Character Rerolls
Players get one reroll and only on the next event after their first. If they want to stay the same character history, they must stay the same name and race. They can change path. They can change skills. They keep the money and material possessions they've earned so far (or lost) from the previous event. Deaths carry over. New items and arbmor can be given to staff. They may/may not be brought out in game by staff. They can use all earned build to spend on the new character. If they change character history they are treated as a new character and create one as such They can spend all their earned build on their new character.
Character Death
When a character permanently dies the player receives 10% of their total earned build towards their next character. A player receives no bonus build towards a new character if they retire their character.
